Food Safety Level 1
Handle, serve or prepare snacks as part of your job? If so this is the course for you.
What does the course involve?
- Food poisoning micro-organisms, types and sources
- Food poisoning, symptoms and causes
- Simple microbiology, toxins, spores, growth/death
- Common food hazards-physical, chemical and microbiological
- Preventing food contamination
- Effective temperature control of food e.g. storage, thawing, reheating and cooking
- Personal Hygiene-basic rules and responsibilities
- Premises and equipment
- Cleaning and disinfection
- Pest Control
- Legal obligations
The course starts at 9.30am and finishes at 5pm.
At the end of the course you take a knowledge test which will be marked and certificated by The Royal Society for Promotion of Health.
This course is run regularly at 2XL and we can also deliver the course at other venues of required.
